Beagle Knits | Stranded Colourwork PRO: el secreto del Ladder Back Jacquard

Stranded colourwork is beautiful… until those long loose ends start appearing on the back side.

In this workshop, you’ll discover Ladder Back Jacquard, a technique that allows you to work large patterns without worrying about snagging threads or a messy back side.

You’ll learn to create a small ‘ladder’ of stitches on the wrong side of the fabric that holds the long strands in place and keeps your work neat, flexible and comfortable to wear. It’s particularly useful when colour changes are far apart or when working on larger designs.

If you already know how to knit stranded colourwork, this workshop will give you a key technique for achieving a much more professional finish.

What will you learn?

  • The Ladder Back Jacquard technique step by step.
  • How to manage long stretches between colour changes.
  • How to place one or more ladders within a pattern.
  • How to maintain the correct tension so that the fabric remains stretchy.
  • Tips for achieving clean, well-finished stranded colourwork.

What will you take away?

  • A folder containing all the workshop information.
  • The Cuello Gingham pattern, a checked collar knitted in stranded colourwork using the Ladder Back Jacquard technique.
