Dipped stitches are a simple yet powerful technique that creates elongated stitches by working into the rows below, producing a beautiful vertical movement and a sculptural texture. They can be bold or subtle, graphic or organic. They offer endless design possibilities.
In this workshop, you’ll go beyond the basics to explore how slipped stitches can become a powerful tool for designing texture and colour in your knits. Whether this technique is new to you or you’ve already tried it, you’ll learn to approach this type of stitch as a design element.
Through guided exploration and practical examples, you’ll see how texture and colour interact, how the fabric changes depending on your choice of yarn, and how to translate these elements into garments and accessories.
By the end of the class, you’ll feel confident to experiment and develop your own ideas, using slipped stitches as a basis for the creative design of textile surfaces.
